RRS Discovery in Dundee

There’s a wee bit of something for everyone in Dundee. If you’re staying with us this summer you’ll have plenty to see and do.

One

Let’s start with the stomachs. Some of the best eats can be found in the heart of Dundee city centre, just a 5 minute drive away from West Park. You must check out Kobee, an exciting new restaurant situated in Dundee’s Waterfront, superb teppanyaki dining!

If you’re after a traditional fine dining Scottish experience, Castlehill Restaurant is the one for you.

Dundee also holds a Farmers' Market every month and there are specialist food shops for halal, Chinese, Polish and Russian cuisines.

Two

Moving onto the free stuff; there is plenty to see and do for free in Dundee. Take a stroll down to Victoria Dock to see one of the biggest visitor’s attractions in Dundee, HM Frigate Unicorn. This historic ship is one of the six oldest ships in the world.

Step out and enjoy the fresh air in Dundee’s fantastic country parks, stretch your legs on a walk around tranquil lochs at the Monikie, Clatto and Forfar Country Parks or let the kids run around on the massive playground at Camperdown Park in Dundee.

Three

If you fancy yourself as the next Tiger Woods, Scotland has some of the best golf courses around. St Andrews, Scotland’s ‘home of golf’ offers a fantastic experience for any golfer and its only 30 minutes away in the car. Carnoustie golf course is not far from West Park too; a spectacular 18 holes to enjoy with your group of friends.

Four

Have you been put in charge of a hen or stag do? Dundee has lots of options for group activities. Stags, this Clay Pigeon Shooting and Quad Biking day could part the men from the boys and hens, a relaxing spa day to prepare you for your hen night sounds idyllic. The Yu Spa has a brilliant hot stone treatment that will make you feel amazing!

Five

Shopaholics! Head to the Overgate and Wellgate shopping centres in the heart of Dundee. Both centres are filled with a huge selection of high street names. Or take a wander down Murraygate to find the cities top fashion boutiques and cafés.
