OUR "SHINING STAR"Thursday 4th March 2010
I know a number of you were aware that Sharon was being put forward for the The Shining Star Award, as organised by "Women Ahead". I am delighted to announce that Sharon was nominated to go in front of the judges on the 23rd February for an interview – poor thing, the nerves certainly kicked in! But despite this, she has made it to the final 3 as I know we were all confident she would.
She is to attend the Award Ceremony on the 19th March at the Apex, Dundee to find out the final outcome. All the Sales Team will be there to hold her hand and give her the support she needs. I know you will all join with me and wish her all the very best of luck. I am sure you will all agree that Sharon is the very essence of this award; she shows dedication to West Park, is committed to our business and strives, as part of the West Park team, to drive it forward to the successful end we all aspire to.
Being the face of West Park, Sharon promotes the business in a very positive and professional manner; her bubbly personality and motivation to do well is an inspiration to us all ! A great ambassador for our organisation. GOOD LUCK ON THE 19th!

CALLING ALL MEN - DATE FOR THE DIARY - 3RD APRIL 2010 - A NIGHT NOT TO BE MISSED - WHAT A LINE UP...
Our own Ally Bally from Radio Tay, the "host with the most", will kick-start the evening at around 7pm and then he will be back later to run our CASH FOR KIDS Charity Auction and Raffle with all proceeds going towards this fabulous charity. Our wonderful staff at West Park will provide you with a wonderful 3 course dinner and afterwards, our line up of speakers include the gregarious Mr John McKelvie, followed by the equally gregarious, Mr George McNeill, both of whom will have you very well entertained. The evening draws to a close at around midnight.
This truly will be an evening to remember - great food, fantastic speakers, superb atmosphere and most importantly, all proceed going to Cash for Kids - the new name for Radio Tay’s listeners’ very own charity - details

OUR 7TH WEDDING EXHIBITION - A RESOUNDING SUCCESS!Monday 1st February 2010

Yesterday we held our 7th Wedding Exhibition and it has to be said that these exhibitions just keep getting better and better!
Visitors were bang on time when the doors opened at midday and when we expected a slight lull around about 3pm, we didn't get it - the visitors just kept coming and coming. At one point, during our fashion show, the room was packed and people were waiting in foyer areas in the hope that they could squeeze in as others squeezed out!
Something which is of course very important to us is that everyone benefits from these Wedding Exhibitions:-
- The feedback we received from a large number of our exhibitors was so very positive - a few commented "the best yet"!
- We of course have had yet another opportunity to showcase West Park as the wonderful wedding venue it is - showcasing to well over 400 people in fact.
- And finally, our customers - we want to show them that this is THE venue to celebrate their very special day and we certainly believe that the overall ambience of yesterday was the perfect way to demonstrate this.
The day was full of surprises - one lucky couple walked away with a chq for £1000.00 towards their honeymoon to spend with D,P &L - a rather dazed Anna Ferrari and Lee McMillan took to the stage to be presented with their prize - our Field Sales Executive, Sharon Hopkinson, along with our General Manager, Gary Brown, did the honours - (photo coming soon). Many thanks to D,P & L for their support.
Amidst all the joviality of the day, not too far from peoples' minds was the plight of those in Haiti. We held a raffle to raise funds and through the generosity of all our visitors, our exhibitors and our staff here at West Park, we have gathered a very healthy sum!
A massive THANK YOU once again to all who assisted in making this day such a fantastic one - roll on 2011!

Attended Dundee and Angus Convention Bureau's Annual Networking evening. Despite torrential rain, wind deliberately blowing in every conceivable direction known to man and mud-covered "wellie into tyre" games, we all still managed to emerge looking as radiant as ever.....mmmmmmmm!

CONGRATULATIONS JENNI AND GARY!
You may recall we posted some news of a sponsored climb which took place last month. Well, a very successful day was had by all. Gary Brown, our General Manager and Jenni Paton, our Assistant Food & Beverage Manager took the Brigader section of the 20th Dundee Girls Brigade on a trek up Ben Tirran aka The Goet as the physical part of their badge whilst fundraising for MacMillan Cancer Support at the same time. They raised a whopping £400.00 and the money continues to come rolling in! I'm sure you will all join me in raising a congratulatory glass on this impressive effort!

....but not of the "eating" kind!! Our sous-chef , Graeme MacGillivray, is to embark upon a 2 month hygiene course at the turn of the year. GOOD LUCK Graeme.

Sharon was our "Face of West Park at the very well attended BUSINESS SHOW FIFE 2009 last week held at the Rothes Halls in Glenrothes and despite wearing her killer heels which in turned managed to "kill her feet", she still smiled her way through and was delighted to have the opportunity to introduce so many local Fife based companies to the wonders of West Park.
